Therapy with children


Every child, every person, every family could use a little support.

 

We work with children of all ages (and their families) when emotions, behaviors, or life experiences become unmanageable or overwhelming. We see children one-on-one, but we always include some parent sessions, family sessions, or break up sessions into some combination to best meet the needs of the whole child and family system. With kiddos under the age of 8, we generally will meet primarily with parents and include some family sessions.

 

Some of the ways children benefit from therapy include:

  • Developing social-emotional skills, coping strategies, and tools for dealing with big feelings

  • Dealing with changes in the family like divorce, blended families, or the death of a family member

  • Improved sense of self-efficacy, self-worth and self-compassion

  • Closer, more connected family relationships

Therapy with teens


 

We believe that adolescence is a powerful time for growth in our lives. Parenting teens is a complicated job and being a teen is maybe even tougher. We're here to support teens and their families on the journey through adolescence with more connection, collaboration and compassion.

 

Teen therapy

We help teens feel seen. In therapy, teens can learn more about who they are and where they belong, develop coping skills for managing life's stressors, and have a space that's free from judgment where they can get real, learn more about what's really important to them and how to get where they want to go. 

 

Group therapy

The best place to find connection and develop a strong sense of self is with peers who are on a similar journey. Group therapy can help teens develop self-compassion, empathy, emotion regulation, coping strategies, interpersonal skills and just feel seen, heard and valued.

 

Family therapy

Sometimes families need a safe space to process big transitions or to heal from big hurts. If you're recovering from divorce or remarriage, adapting to a recent move, grieving the loss of a family member, or just trying to cope with the day to day, family therapy can be a place to nurture relationships and build a stronger & more resilient family.

parent coaching

Parent coaching can be incorporated into individual, couples or family therapy, and it can also be a standalone service for parents who want to dive into a specific problem or parenting dilemma and come away with tangible and practical tools to manage it, with the accountability and perspective that a therapist can provide. Parent coaching may not be appropriate for every situation, but our therapists can work with you to develop a plan that meets your needs and incorporates parent coaching as appropriate.

Therapy for college students & young adults


You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

 

Your late teens and 20s are a time of incredible growth & transformation.
